About The Event

2-day workshop hosted by Andrea Sexton, with Ini-Isabee Gunn

Thursday 21 April: 10am-3pm

Friday 22 April: 10am-3pm

$180 + bring a potluck lunch to share each day

This workshop is really about unleashing the playful artist within. We'll have so much fun, looking at a range of creative processes, including exploring a range of mark making tools, loads of creative practices! I often find adults are very nervous and shy about getting paint to paper. Where do you start? I can teach a range of starting points, easy compositions and unique outcomes.

Ini-Isabee Gunn will work alongside us, sharing a range of mindfulness techniques to encourage the creative process.

Materials for you to bring:

  • Paper collage material (such as vintage wallpaper, book pages, black & white images)
  • Acrylic paints
  • Inks
  • Pastels
  • Pencils
  • Gel Medium
  • Masking Tape
  • 3 Sheets of Good Quality Paper (300gsm)

Some additional materials will be provided for further exploration.

If you need to purchse any of these materials, you can go to Southland Art Supplies and mention that you are going to this workshop to receive 20% off the materials you purchase.

Everyone is welcome, including older children if supervised by an adult also attending the workshop.

Ini-Isabee Gunn

Ini teaches yoga and mindfulness practices; her ultimate goal to help people improve their quality of life. She is currently running vinyasa yoga classes in Orepuki and also offers mindfulness coaching and workshops.

Ini will be supporting Andrea's intuitive mark making course with mindfulness exercises to help you cultivate awareness, become present in the moment, and maintain a non-judgmental and curious attitude towards the creative process.

Breathing exercises and simple yoga stretches will aslo be woven throughout the day, to ground you and help get your creative juices flowing.
