This mixed media series is comprised of contemporary picture making/collage techniques. They features remnants of book pages, copper leaf, indigo ink, graphite, liquidtex inks/ indian ink, pastel and acrylic paint on a raised wooden board.
This delightful series was inspired from stones, a twig and a slither of seaweed, found on one of my many Gemstone beach walks with Mark, Zinger the golden retriever and Nirto the Lab bitsa! I've included a pic beside the artwork for you to see! The foreshore provides a plethera of inspiration, and on this particular day garnet and black sand framed these found objects beautifully. With these works, I thoroughly enjoyed playing with contrast of colour, shapes and texture. Delicate genstural soft lines, juxaposed next to blocks of bold colour and different scales of shapes. Layers of marks and meaning from my most favourite place.
Frame: Presented on white matt board and framed in a simple white shadow box frame, without glass in front . Two D-rings secured on the back made for easy hanging.
